Sugar Mountain, North Carolina offers wonderful vacation fun for every season of the year. 

Spring and Summer is great in the Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain areas.  Popular outdoor activities include hiking and mountain biking, white water rafting, golf, horseback riding, fly-fishing and more.  Wildflowers are in bloom and daytime temperatures rarely exceed the low 80s during the Summer months and nighttime temperatures have just enough nip to make you close the windows!

Autumn in Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain are simply awe inspiring.  The maple, oak and hickory trees explode into colors that are simply amazing. Festivals abound on Sugar and Beech, as well as the surrounding areas of Banner Elk...and outdoor activities available during the Spring and Summer are still options.

Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain both become a "winter wonderland" from late November through the end of March.  Sugar is home to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Beech Mountain is home to Ski Beech.  Both resorts offer great ski and snowboarding terrain, and many amenities to make your ski vacation a great one.  Beech tends to average about a foot more natural snowfall each season with it's higher elevation, but there's plenty of snow all season long at either ski resort and Sugar Mountain tends to remain open a few weeks longer into late March.

Beech Mountain offers an abundance of outdoor activities for everyone. As the highest ski area in Eastern North America, you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, cross-country skiing or tubing. For outdoor fun off the snow, enjoy a hike in the woods or try your hand at rock climbing. There are many bike trails in the area for mountain biking, and the golfer at heart won't be disappointed with several excellent golf courses located nearby.
